MURDER TAKES THE CAKE
Daphne, the book’s protagonist, loves making sweet treats for her sister Violet’s children, Lucas and Leslie. So much so, that one year, Daphne gave Violet a hand and provided a special dessert for Lucas’s school’s Halloween party—Black Cat Cupcakes.
Lucas’s Black Cat Cupcakes
Cupcakes (your preferred flavor)
Chocolate icing
Chocolate-covered crème drops, such as Junior Mints, cut in half (to form two half-moons)
Skittles, Reese’s Pieces, M&M’s, or some other small, round candy
Candy corn
Skinny pretzel rods
1. Frost the cupcakes with chocolate icing.
2. Place the chocolate covered crème drop halves (white center facing the inside) side-by-side at the top of the cupcake for the cat’s ears. Add round candy pieces for eyes, a candy corn pointing downward for the nose, and two pretzel sticks on each side of the nose (> <) for whiskers.
